WILDCARPATHIA
Southern Carpathians
CROSS THE HIGHEST DRIVEABLE PASSES IN THE CARPATHIANS
The Wild Carpathia expedition is our flagship route — five days of serious off-road driving through the heart of Romania’s Southern Carpathians. You’ll climb from valley floors through ancient beech forests to alpine meadows above 2,000 metres, fording rivers, navigating rocky switchbacks, and camping where the only light comes from stars and campfire.
This is not a guided tour. It’s an expedition. You’ll drive your own vehicle through terrain that tests your skill and rewards your courage with views that no paved road can reach. From the off-road variants of the Transfăgărășan to shepherd trails that don’t appear on any map, every day brings a new challenge and a new landscape.
- Transfăgărășan off-road variants
- Wild camping at 2,000m altitude
- River ford crossings
- Bear country traversal
